Longrain Sydney
Restaurant in Sydney
Southern Asian Restaurant & Cocktail Bar
Longrain has the rather auspicious reputation of being Sydney’s best contemporary Asian restaurant.
With communal banquet-style dining tables, this modern, yet comfortable restaurant has an air of quiet confidence. As soon as I entered the dining area I felt like I knew I was going to get high quality food, good service and enjoy a pleasant evening.
The menu offers a variety of dishes designed by Head Chef Martin Boetz with a Thai and Southern Chinese influence. Each dish is designed to be shared and is served with Jasmine rice. Our waiter recommended a Riesling to go with our dishes after expertly talking us through which wines would complement each flavor.
As a relative newcomer to Sydney, I can’t say if Longrain is the best of its kind, but it more than delivered on ambience, quality and value. I would certainly visit again and recommend you take the time to sample some of the amazing dishes on offer.
Open for Lunch Friday from 12pm to 2:30pm. Dinner Monday to Friday from 6pm to 11pm; Saturday 5:30pm to 11pm and Sunday from 5:30pm to 10pm.
The Cocktail Bar is open 7 nights a week from 4pm to midnight.
