Cote d’Or Apartments
Serviced Apartment in Seychelles
Self Catering Apartments
For weeks, a dear friend persistently invited me to join him on holiday in the Seychelles.
“It’s Praslin Island.” He insisted. “It’s the second largest island of the Seychelles and has amazing snorkeling, diving and white vast sandy beaches.” He’s right; Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette, are both beaches of Praslin Island and both regularly appear on the top ten lists for the world’s best beaches. His invite is incredibly tempting but I simply cannot go and I tell him why: “I’m reserving the Seychelles as my future honeymoon destination!”
I have always wanted to experience my honeymoon in the Seychelles, and in particular, Praslin Island. Praslin Island is the site of the Garden of Eden, or so it is historically claimed. Today known as Vallée de Mai, this so-called Garden of Eden is a large nature reserve and one of the Seychelles’s two UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Within Vallée de Mai are the legendary Coco-de-Mer palm trees that grow the world's heaviest nuts. Interestingly and almost comically, these nuts are shaped like the human female private part.
“Seychelles is a 115-island nation, just go to one of the other islands for you honeymoon.” My friend implored. Now, this made sense; I was convinced, perhaps too easily. My honeymoon will just have to wait it’s time.
My friend was responsible for our flights and I booked our Praslin accommodation; Cote d’Or Apartments. These are a newly built set of nine (one to two bedroom) spacious self-catering apartments that are only 50 meters from the white sandy Cote d’Or beach – you can almost feel the pleasant sea breeze on your balcony. Each apartment provides a fully-equipped kitchen, with microwave oven, and fridge; an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning and ceiling fan, Satellite TV and Wi-Fi access; and a veranda overlooking the apartment’s tropical garden and the nearby luscious green mountains of Praslin.
The two Seychellois ladies managing the Cote d’Or apartments provided us with the warmest Creole hospitality. On our second day in Praslin, they helped us arrange a fishing trip and, for a reasonable price, prepared for us delicious Creole dishes with the Kingfish and Tuna fish that we successfully caught during our fishing trip.
