The Spa at Desert Springs
Health Spa in Palm Springs
Hotel Resort Health Spa
Awash in a welcome of toasty terra cottas and sunset simulating siennas, The Spa at Desert Springs is an oasis of wellness within its famously arid environs. Contemporary and soothing with stones and tones designed to bring balance back to the everyday, its clean lines and spectacular sprawl deem it a desert rose to be reckoned with.
The state of the art set up at The Spa at Desert Springs, vast vistas and a pool with a view, easily evoke feelings of fried and frenzy decomposition. So much space and so much soothing send stress on its merry way, and while no time is a bad time for such a sensation, a lesser frequented winter season really carries a unique magic to the experience.
Treatments and amenities abound, so much so that while the spa is located inside a massive resort expanse, undoubtedly the spa holds court as the main attraction. A coffee and cappuccino palate furnish the facility, in a collective that houses 48 (!!) treatment rooms, a posh salon, a bistro featuring spa cuisine, a VIP suite, a newly furnished fitness center, and a saltwater pool for your dipping pleasure. Rush not once you’ve arrived. You will definitely want to do a day here. Maybe a few. Which is where the resort benefit really comes in handy.
With two steams to choose from, the lavender gentler, the eucalyptus more intense, allow plenty of time to take in both, plus the sauna and maybe a Jacuzzi before your treatment. Want to while in an alfresco saltwater swim? You can do that too. And that desert rain shower, too many showerheads to count, that is one to experience. With fresh rose clippings and lit candles lining the travertine, the last thing you’ll want to do, is leave.
Scrubs to massages, facials to wraps to paraffin’s, it’s all there, all available. Hair, nails, toes, everything, with an extraordinary square footage that makes what it is already oxygenating, exceptionally so: a bastion of bringing healthy back.
I went with a seasonal special, the Winter Mint Polish. Combining salt and sugar polish, a blend of peppermint, lavender, and sage soothe with all the right notes. And they even send you home with a goody bag – extra winter mint scrub and a loofah to go. Appreciated.
I hit the sauna once more to seal in all that nourishment, plus an extra smoothing of Kerstin Florian, because it is irresistible.
The desert scorches by summer, parches year round. Denizens need a rehydrating hub to destine. The Spa at Desert Springs provides, with full use of the spa and all its accoutrement complimentary with a treatment or purchase of $80 on up. As soothing as an experience it is here, with all that space, those specialty suites, couples’ rooms and the elusive Spa within a Spa (private parties? Inquire), it absolutely invokes ideas of where to gather and recalibrate next. And where to gather next, after that.
