InterContinental London Park Lane
Hotel in London
5-Star Hotel
A contemporary luxury hotel in London’s Mayfair with two wonderful restaurants and Elemis Health Spa.
The hotel’s 447 rooms including 60 suites are spread over 8 floors and offer a high level of comfort and features. The room categories are straightforward with Standard and Deluxe rooms and Suites.
The guestrooms have a traditional décor with a contemporary twist including a liberal use of wood panelling. They are well equipped with a Bose sound system and iPod docking station as well as a DVD player and flat screen TV plus video rental library. There is a reasonable sized desk and of course Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel (at a daily charge). The bathrooms are beautifully decorated with tiled floors and there is plenty of counter space on top of the wooden vanities. The InterContinental beds are always really comfortable and I liked the splashes of different colours on the bed cushions and throws. All the essentials are of course there such as a personal safe, mini-bar, bathrobe, slippers and umbrella for those rainy London days! The windows are double glazed and can be opened for those of you who like to sleep with some fresh air
There are 12 Signature Suites and they are all most elegant. For example, the Palace Suite has a separate living and dining room, Bang & Olufsen Television and more than enough wardrobe space to accommodate even the large packer. The beige tiled bathroom has a separate walk in shower, bidet and solid black granite top to the his and hers double vanity. The amenities are Elemis. You also have access to a Butler if you are staying in suite as well as use of the lovely and large Club Lounge with its fabulous views over Hyde Park and the London skyline. Complimentary breakfast is served there each morning and there are snacks and drinks available throughout the day as well as evening canapés.
The hotel is family-friendly having a number of twin and interconnecting rooms. Children get a welcome pack including teddy bear, puzzle books, game consoles and other amenities to keep them amused. They even offer cookery classes for kids at the Sunday Brunch!
Theo Randall is the hotel’s excellent fine dining restaurant and then you have the fun Cookbook Cafe with its fabulous and popular weekend Brunches.
The Arch Bar is a popular after work destination bar offering 26 different types of Gin and is the place to really celebrate Gin! The Wellington Lounge is a relaxing oasis in which to enjoy afternoon Tea whilst watching the world go by. The hotel will even organise picnic hampers in the warmer months if you fancy relaxing in St James or Hyde Park.
The Elemis Spa with its 6 Treatment rooms is a wonderful place to escape to after a long day at work or rushing around Town.
