When Vegas says, “pool party,” they don’t mean of the backyard variety. I had no idea what I was in for as I headed to the Cosmopolitan and my reserved umbrella at the pool.

The unanimous local favorite, Marquee Dayclub boasts the best scene on the strip.

Uniting the world’s renowned DJ’s and musicians with the likes of beautiful cabana lounging regulars Alessandra Ambrosio and Vanessa Minnillo, the Marquee Dayclub is exactly that, a club. I am positive now that I am the ONLY person who has ever brought a book (Fitzgerald no less) into the Dayclub for what I thought was a day of relaxing by the pool. Silly me. With music this good (and loud), no reading was to be done.

There are no gimmicks to be found, no themes to distract from the 22,000 square foot rooftop poolside playground. The architectural elements are inspired from nature with teak cabanas, copper covered patios, and rust colored accents on the crisp white lounges. The pool is pristine and the location is immaculate. The female serving staff is attentive (and stunning) catering to every whim of their customers with ease while making it all look effortless in their violet string bikinis and sarongs. The chill vibe attracts celebrities and VIPs looking for casual discretion.

The menu is reasonably priced and the specialty cocktails by the pitcher are the most booze for your buck. Personally never a big fan of hotel pool food, which leans toward the fried variety, the Dayclub had several salad options and sushi available. What’s not on the menu are the refreshingly tart grapefruit mojitos offered inside the Cosmopolitan casino. However ask, and you shall receive by special request.

If you want a place to lay in the sun, reservations are a MUST. Pricing varies based on level of seating reserved not on number of people in your party, and is applied as a food and beverage minimum.
