Hotel Bellevue Dubrovnik

Hotel in Dubrovnik

5-Star Hotel

I have travelled to Dubrovnik many times but somehow continuously failed to book a stay in Hotel Bellevue.

Situated on the opposite side from Ploce, the most popular hotel area famous for its view on Dubrovnik’s Old Town, it isn’t the most obvious choice for tourists. As my recent stay in Hotel Bellevue proved, this is an advantage rather than a disadvantage for this superb boutique hotel. What a hidden treasure! Conveniently situated outside the hustle and bustle of the Old Town, which can be especially overwhelming in the summer months, it offers a calm atmosphere with a splendid view on the sea. It is all about the sea here – its divine scent, its movements and shades of blue, which is hardly surprising given the fact that the hotel is carved into a cliff.

This gives its guests a rare treat – a private pebble beach where you can enjoy the sea and relax or treat yourself to a nice meal and cocktails in the beach restaurant. I did it every day during my stay; the beach was very pleasant and never crowded and the sea very clean with smooth access.

This is a perfect place for couples. The atmosphere is calm yet hip with a luxurious interior and two restaurants with romantic settings. It is a great place for a romantic weekend getaway with your partner or a long holiday as you can experience the history and energy of Dubrovnik’s Old Town while enjoying the privacy and calm of your own little paradise overlooking the magnificent Adriatic Sea. The Old Town with its many treasures is about one kilometer away – a short taxi or bus ride, but I suggest you take a walk in the late afternoon and allow yourself to be overwhelmed by the scents and scenes of this pleasant promenade placed to the most part by the sea.

If you want to avoid loud places, resort-like hotels with noisy children and crowded lounge areas, this is the perfect place for you. I stayed there in the high season, in August, and always felt almost as if I had the place for myself. There is a cool atmosphere about it, elegant yet young and fresh. The room I stayed in was well equipped, with a modern, minimalistic design, in the tones of light colored wood and beige. With nothing but the sea in front of my room, it was exceptionally calm. The breakfast was superb, as was the SPA that has an indoor pool overlooking the sea – must be great in the cooler months.

The staff was very professional and friendly. Among other things, I used their laundry and dry cleaning service and it was quick and impeccable. Every detail of Hotel Bellevue is in tune with its five stars promise.
