Méribel,
along with its neighbouring resort Méribel-Mottaret is one of two large ski
resorts located in the beautiful Trois Vallées.
The ski
resort offers an incredible 600km of piste and unlimited off piste. Moreover, with the surrounding traditional
villages and delightful chalet architecture, Méribel provides a real authentic
skiing experience.
The
village is not short of a fantastic shopping area and numerous bars and
restaurants. However, what gives this village its special touch is the
bi-weekly bustling street market which creates a lovely sense of community!
Other quaint attractions include Dicks Tea Bar, Belvedere and Aktiport which is
a relaxing woodland area.
Skiing
The
resort has an extensive lift system, including 15 gondola lifts and 19 chair
lifts. The winter season generally runs from December to April, peaking during
New Year, February and March. In summer, the resort is open in the months of
July and August.
A reduced
ski area is normally in place during the 3rd-17th
December and the 22nd-27th April depending on snow cover,
and lift prices are usually cheaper as a result.
Other
Activities
For the non-skiers, there are plenty of other activities such as glacier walking, helicopter tours, ice-karting, tobogganing and even husky sledding.
