Jersey City

Statue of Liberty // Ellis Island // Panoramic Views of Lower Manhattan // 5 Minutes to WTC Subway // Lower State Tax...

Jersey City is an ideal alternative to staying in New York, with its panoramic views of Manhattan, cheaper prices, lower state tax and efficient PATH train service.

It has an eclectic mix of population and cultures and every week during the summer months the city has festivals for all the various countries that are represented in the local population.

If you are staying at The Hyatt Regency at Exchange Place with its wonderful views and far better rates, the PATH station is right outside and WTC Subway stop is just one stop away and takes literally 5 minutes.  The other easy way to get to Manhattan is to take the NY Waterway Ferry to either Wall Street or close to Penn Station midtown.  These run more frequently at peak commute times.

Transportation

Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) is only 20 minutes away by the PATH train and if you take an Amtrak train from Washington DC or Philadelphia, get off at Newark’s Penn Station and cross over the platform to catch the PATH to Exchange Place, which will take you 18 minutes and costs just $1.75 one-way or you can simply use your New York MTA Subway Metrocard if you have one.

The PATH trains run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and will take you from four locations in Jersey City to midtown and lower Manhattan.
