Gothenburg is Sweden’s second largest city,
which is located on the west coast and has become a booming cultural centre
with many concerts and international sporting events.
As a culinary metropolis with its many
seafood restaurants Gothenburg is known for its innovative cuisine. The theme
park ‘Liseberg’ attracts people from all over Sweden and Europe.
Tipping in Sweden
Tipping is normally around 5-10% (more to
round up the amount on the bill), however tipping is not mandatory and most
often the service charge is included in the bill.
The Gothenburg Tram system is very
comprehensive and the largest in Scandinavia.
There is also a good bus system as well as boat and ferry services. There is no subway system.
There are two airports that serve
Gothenburg. Landvetter is 25km from the
city centre and Gothenburg City Airport, the smaller of the two, is just 15km
from the city. A taxi to Landvetter will
cost you around 300 SEK, whilst a bus (Flygbussen) is 80 SEK one way, 150 SEK
