The Algarve is located is located in the southernmost part of Portugal. The region is also Portugal’s most popular tourist destination and as well as being one of the most popular in Europe.

A total of around 10 million people visit the Algarve every year with approximately 7 million of them being foreign tourists.

Faro is the largest and main city in the region and where the region’s international airport is located.

The Climate
One of the reasons the Algarve is such a popular place to visit is because of its mild climate. In the summer the temperature can range between around 25°C (77°F) and have been known to get up to over 100°F (40°C), but that is on rare occasions.

The region’s main airport is Faro (FAO) where most international carriers fly in and out of.
