It was fun trying to get to Kensington High Street yesterday afternoon for a meeting.  I discovered that the District and Circle lines are closed until 27th August for upgrade work!  Apparently August is a quiet time.  You could have fooled me with the amount of tourists I saw looking totally confused faced with the closure.  The only alternative was to take a bus, and given that it was 30 degrees yesterday and London buses are not air conditioned, I arrived at my meeting late and hot! 

London Underground Disruption

Our man on the ground has told us that commuters are facing major disruption at the moment as two Oxford Street Underground  stations are having major refurbishment work carried out.  From April, the Northern line will not be stopping at Tottenham Court Road for 8 months, making it impossible for people to change to or from the Central Line.
