Fourth Plinth’s Latest Resident

The Fourth Plinth in London's Trafalgar Square has a new resident. At the end of last month HMS Victory in a bottle was replaced by a giant child on a rocking horse.

The bronze sculpture is 4.1 metres high and has been greeted with mixed reactions by visitors to Trafalgar Square.

Olympic Countdown Clock Counts Backwards

Our man on the ground in London informs us that the brand new Olympic Countdown Clock in Trafalgar Square stopped working less than 24 hours after it was unveiled to the world.  In fact it started counting backwards!  The other side of the clock was however working apparently, showing the countdown to the Paralympics.  We understand that it is now working properly and counting down to the games in 499 days time.

A replica model of the famour HMS Victory has prime position on the "empty plinth" in Trafalgar Square.  The ship is a 1:30 exact scale replica and is cleverly sitting in a huge bottle...
