Unusual Valentine’s Day Travel

It’s almost that time of year again. You’ve probably been inundated with advertisements for flowers and chocolates for your loved one for the last month or two. If you’re still looking for the perfect Valentine’s Day gift, consider taking your lover on an unforgettable trip to one of these unusual (for this holiday, at least) adventures.

Romance in the USA
You’d be hard-pressed to find a place in the United States that many people consider romantic. If you really think about it you might think about somewhere in Hawaii or perhaps San Francisco. Those places are fine, but if you really want to impress your partner take her to Arizona. That’s where you’ll find the biggest — and most beautiful — hole in the ground the world over. The Grand Canyon is a sight to see, and it makes it easy to tell your partner how much of a hole they would leave in your heart with that kind of inspiration right outside. It can be a little bit cool in February, but that won’t affect the views any. It will also give you a good excuse to stay in and feed your lover chocolates all night long.

Down Under Fun
It’s not the place you’re thinking of, but it’s close. One of the most under-appreciated travel locations is Tasmania. The weather on the island is perfect year-round and there are plenty of beaches to take advantage of it. If you and your partner are adventurous types you can check out the wildlife at one of the 18 national parks. You can still enjoy the finer things in life as well, as Tasmania is quickly becoming a destination for food and wine lovers. The island is home to 7 wine regions and the cheese made at nearby King Island is to die for. The best part of it all? You and your partner can enjoy it all without the bother of dealing with a deluge of other tourists because this hidden gem hasn’t been overtaken yet.

Safari For Love
If you’re like many travelers, an African safari is somewhere on your bucket list. Did you ever think of making it the Valentine’s Day of a lifetime? The safaris available range from the ultra-luxurious to a few nights in a makeshift home in the wilderness. You and your love one will be inspired by the majesty of the African landscape and animals. The African culture and societies are the oldest on earth, so you’ll be sure to learn a lot about love and life from your guides as you’re venturing into the wild. Who knows, maybe the experience will also rekindle the animal instincts you felt when you first fell in love.

Tasmania Safari

You’ll never be satisfied with dinner reservations and champagne again if you take a trip to one of these unique romantic locations. Make this year’s Valentine’s Day one to remember with a wonderful trip.
