Having been to the inaugural Gin & Jazz evening in The Arch Bar at London’s InterContinental Park Lane last November, I thought I would pop along this month to see how it is settling in now that it has become a permanent monthly fixture in the hotel’s calendar.
This was The Shirt Tail Stompers first visit to Park Lane and they most certainly did not disappoint by delighting the audience with some terrific music and finished the evening playing New Orleans Jazz whilst mingling with the audience.
Once again Executive Chef Paul Bates had put together a great menu to accompany the nostalgic signature cocktails, including Hotsy-Totsy, which is two mini buffalo and foie gras hamburgers, tempura tiger prawns, spiced infused chicken Yakatori with crisp fried and chilli confetti. Or if you prefer fish, there was the Cat’s Meow, made up of Sashimi of Tuna with lobster maki, wasabi, soy and Tobiko caviar, Scottish lobster and mango salsa, crab chilli won tons!
The cocktails on this occasion included the Cloudy Moonshine, consisting of Gin, No 1 park lane tea, Benedectine, vanilla syrup and sweet and sour and Bootlegger consisting of Gin, Galliano, port, orange juice, angostura and Peychaud bitter.
If you want to make the next event I suggest you book it sooner rather than later as this is a small intimate evening and seats are limited. Benoit Viellefon and His Orchestra will be returning on Thursday 17th May.
